Yoga not only helps improve your body, but also helps with mindfulness and meditation. It is important to take a break from daily life in order to focus on yourself and get clarity. Focusing on your breath during practice is key to staying in tune with your mind and body.
Yoga with Georgiann has specifically designed a practice to support employees that sit for long periods of time. When the body is in a seated position for even a few hours at a time their muscles are not active. The blood flow and circulation in the joints, spine and brain slows down causing employees to feel foggy, possibly inhibiting their flow of oxygen, nutrients, and hormones to function properly. Incorporating a regular practice of a gentle yoga practice for 30-60 minutes will improve employees’ ability to focus and retain new information. Yoga with Georgiann works with employees particularly in the shoulders and hips where muscles shorten or lengthen to accommodate sitting at the desk. The practice also supports the upper back, abdominals, while adding a gentle stretching of the hamstrings and hip flexors to relieve tightness and pressure.
Yin Yoga poses stimulate and remove blockages in the myofascial meridians in the body. This has the effect of balancing the body's internal organs and systems. Yoga asanas are held longer allowing for the body to achieve optimal health and vitality. Yoga Nidra will complete the practice in a lying down position on our backs in shavasana while listening to a voice that is guiding you to a yogic sleep. An immensely powerful meditation technique that promotes relaxation, it can help to calm the nervous system which in turn supports less stress and better health.
Private Yoga Nidra is offered in North Scottsdale on Mondays and Fridays. Private Yoga Nidra sessions can be a powerful way to overcome a habit, work through an addiction or relieve stress. Grief can be reprocessed and unresolved experiences laid to rest. The many benefits of a regular Yoga Nida Session include improved health, happiness, and sound sleeping. It has even been used to treat anxiety, depression, and chronic pain! The sessions are customized to the individual’s needs. Most begin with a discussion of what challenges the client is facing and the setting of intentions. Clients are then guided into a deep yogic sleep during which time they will experience a profound sense of peace and relaxation. Clients leave feeling lighter and ready to handle the many challenges of everyday life.
Private and group Yoga Nidra classes are held weekly Monday through Fridays using Zoom. Wednesdays at 4pm please join us for a group Yoga Nidra and on Fridays at 4pm we offer a Gentle Hatha Flow class on Zoom.
